Irori Sanzoku (the Bandit’s Hearth)

You'll feel like a bandit yourself once you've gone inside! Dine on exciting dishes like the famous Bandit's Grill

Irori Sanzoku (the Bandit's Hearth) has created quite a stir in Yamaguchi, where it's known as an entertainment-filled restaurant. The store looks about as lively and exciting as you might expect from a restaurant with a name like "Bandit's Hearth." On a mountain road with few lights, the restaurant appears suddenly and starkly with its festive lights and banners decorating the building. Inside, there are seats at sunken hearths and sunken heated seats outside for winter: you'll feel almost as if you've been invited into the hideout of a group of bandits. Menu items, too, are of course prepared by bandits.
We highly recommend the "Bandit's Grill" and "Bandit's Riceball." The "Bandit's Grill" is charcoal-grilled chicken with a crispy outside and juicy, flavorful meat inside, all eaten with gusto on a skewer. The "Bandit's Riceball," on the other hand, is large enough to contain enough rice for two, carefully hidden away under black seaweed.

Seasonal decorations and events are put on throughout the year. Of course, the food, too, is delicious, so consider stopping by Irori Sanzoku for a bite!
